Calling all Wordsmiths: Enter Olney's Seuss-Alike Writing Contest!

cover of the book, One Fish, Two Fish, by Dr. Seuss. Do you find yourself giggling while reading Green Eggs and Ham or Horton Hears a Who? Readers everywhere, from age 2 to 102, enjoy Dr. Seuss's whimsical drawings and inventive lexicon. Celebrate his birthday this month by entering a poem or story in Olney Library's "Seuss-Alike Writing Contest." Kids, teens, and adults may submit entries to the library's Information Desk by the deadline of March 14. Please limit entries to one page. Several winners will receive prizes!

Theodor Seuss Geisel, far better known as Dr. Seuss, was born on March 2, 1904. He wrote his first books as alternatives to the standard, duller "beginning reader" books of the time (the late 1950s). His work influenced countless writers of today.
